Hand Pump Body 8″
A Beer Engine, often known as a hand pump, is a distinctly British distributing device that works best for traditional cask-conditioned ales. While the casks are kept in a cooler basement below the bar, the beer engine, which is a piston pump, allows the beer to be hauled or pushed up to the bar.
Cask-conditioned beers are normally served between 11°C and 14°C, which results in a lower carbonation level than regular beers. If beer were serve from a cask-conditioned ale, the beer’s carbonation would be enhanced by the gas pressure and the colder temperature, which would ruin the beverage’s perfect flavour harmony. Examine the cask conditioning. On the other hand, using a beer engine to dispense fully carbonated beverages would produce an infinite spray of foam. If the proper cask temperature can be maintained, a straightforward gravity tap is adequate for a cask-conditioned brew; however, if the cask is located in a remote area, a beer engine is necessary. See also distributing by gravity.
- A beer line and beer tap are included with this pump.
- Attach your beer keg tap to the provided beer hex nut and clamp the air hose to the side of your keg tap, and your pump is complete.
